A Legacy Carried Forward: Steve & Trent White

This month, we’re honored to share a story that celebrates not just service, but family—and the traditions that carry forward through generations.
Steve White dedicated 21 years of service as a Prince George’s County firefighter, proudly serving alongside his wife during his career. Early on, Steve was inspired by a coworker’s piece of jewelry with a unique design. He knew he wanted one for himself—something that would hold his badge number and serve as a lasting symbol of his service. That piece became a part of him throughout his entire career.
When Steve’s son, Trent, followed in his footsteps, the family’s legacy of service grew even stronger. Trent began volunteering in high school at MVFC Station 7 in Frederick, MD, later graduating and entering the PG County Fire Academy—the same department where his parents had built their careers.
For Steve, one detail of the design stood out above all: the firefighter ID number. Every firefighter is assigned a number, and it quickly becomes more than just identification—it’s who they are on every call. It represents their commitment, their presence, and their courage.
As a teenager, Trent had often asked if he could wear his father’s piece, but Steve hesitated, knowing how much it meant to him. That’s why, when Trent graduated from the academy, Steve knew the perfect gift: an identical charm of his own, carrying his ID number, just as his father’s did.
This gift represents more than jewelry—it symbolizes tradition, sacrifice, and the deep bond between father and son. Just as Steve wore his piece throughout his career, Trent now carries his, beginning his own journey of service with pride.
Stories like this are why we do what we do. Every custom piece we create is more than jewelry—it’s a story of service, love, and legacy.
