First responders - firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, police officers, and others dedicate their lives to protecting others, even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice. Yet, like the Phoenix, their legacy does not end with their death. Their service and bravery inspire others, and the community is transformed by their sacrifice, honoring them through memorials and continued acts of courage.
